Love the rubellite, Tobi. Good color saturation and cute little sidecar crystal.

Thank you Michael. Indeed a really nice piece from Beni Bouzra, here's an additional photo of the termination, I like the small perfect triangular crystal face in the middle. And Jordi was so kind to send me the page from Le Règne Minéral where the piece was shown.

Maybe the perfect time to thank Jordi for being such a kind and diligent dealer. He's always so accurate and he provides everything you need about a specimen, in this case I even got an analysis of the Beni Bouzra tourmaline material verified as elbaite. Thank you Jordi for being such a luminary of the mineral world :-)

Best regards
Tobi

Thanks, I agree :-)

The next specimen is smaller and more elegant, a nice quartz cluster from Colombia. The specimen is a complete floater, the whole bottom consists of crystal tips, including those from the double-terminated main crystals. A lovely quartz sculpture :-)

1895 g ;-) The specimen feels very heavy for its size, I guess the matrix includes a lot of baryte and/or other minerals with a high specific gravity.

Don't worry, I have two Navajún pyrites that weigh 3900 g and 2300 g. But I'm not going to purchase any other specimen that heavy anymore.

This quartz specimen is most likely from somewhere in the departamento de Santander.
Peñas Blancas produces Muzo habit crystals.

Thank you for the advice, I looked this up and compared photos and you seem to be right. I can't edit my post anymore, could one of the admins with full access rights please change the locality to "Santander Department, Colombia" - thanks!

Tobi

Locality corrected.

Nice quartz crystals very well positioned on the matrix. I think that a little trimming at the base would greatly improve the specimen, but I do know that this operation is always a risk. Congratulations!

Thank you Carles. I think I will not take the risk of trimming here because the matrix rock seems more stable than the connection between it and the amethyst ;-)

Another specimen, unfortunately it was not possible to make a really good photo. This little beauty consists of three lustrous fluorapatite crystals (all of them about 1,5 cm wide) on a quartz crystal that is partially covered with tiny pyrite crystals. Better in person.
