PostPosted: Aug 24, 2024 17:34    Post subject: Fluorite twin from Colorado

A friend, who is a faceter, recently gave me this specimen from the south side of Mt. Antero, in the Sawatch Range of Colorado. The person who found it wanted him to cut gemstones from it (!!), but, luckily, he knew I collect twins and he recognized that it was a bit unusual. Dimensions are 8 x 5 x 2.6 cm, and it weighs 224gm. I'm posting it here because I think it's an exceptional Mt. Antero fluorite.

Wow! A most unusual fluorite twin - from any place! Thanks for sharing it.
