An old Weardale specimen, recently surfaced at the Tucson show. Thanks to New York dealer John Betts who once owned the specimen, I have traced it back to Henery D. Miller, a collector who was active in the New England area during the late 19th and early 20th centuries. An old label with the specimen resembles one from the Philadelphia dealer George English, which dates to the early 1890s. That label gives the location as "Allenheads, Northumberland" but it doesn't resemble any specimens I have seen from that mine. A newer label gave the location as "Blackdene Mine", which seems more likely. This is just speculation, however, and given the apparent age of the specimen I think it best to simply label it as "Weardale".
