This specimen of albite was purchased from the well known American dealer A. E. Foote in 1893. It was part of the Silas Bronson Library collection, The species is albite variety pericline, The locality is given simply as Dauphine, France. Any ideas about something more specific?

I don't know about the locality, but I have some doubts whether these are really pericline twins. They look more like normal (but nicely formed) albite twins to me.

Hello Howard,
I'm not an expert for French minerals, but I have seen VERY similiar albites from Saint-Véran in Provence-Alpes-Côte d'Azur which is where the historic Region Dauphine was located. I hope this might help.

I would rather say the Maurienne area, but there are so many French localities with albites like that that it seems to me practically impossible to determine the exact locality.
