Dear Fabre Forum friends,

For those who may be here, I wanted to mention two coming events in Colorado next month; the Denver Show, Sept. 17-19 (with, of course, the satellite show(s) during that preceding week); and also, the weekend before, Sept. 10-12, a mineral symposium being held in the historic silver mining town of Creede, on north edge of the San Juan mountains in southwest Colorado. The symposium is sponsored by the Colorado Chapter of Friends of Mineralogy and the Colorado School of Mines Geology Museum. There will be a welcoming reception and opening lecture Friday evening; talks during the day Saturday plus an evening banquet; and a field trip on Sunday (visit to the historic Wagon Wheel Gap fluorite mine, plus to the Last Chance mine (fee collecting) in Creede). Most of the event will be held at the Creede Underground Mining Museum. "Minerals of Creede" is also the theme of the 2010 Denver Show. If you are going to be in Denver for the show, all are invited to the reception and silent auction at the Colorado School of Mines Geology Museum, in Golden, 7 p.m., Wednesday Sept. 15.
