In this case, taking into account the matrix of massive pyrite, my educated guess is that it could come from Elba too.

I agree with Elba Island.

As far as pyrite is concerned, I would like to add a more rarely seen specimen of Fluorite and Pyrite from China.

Gypsum var. Selenite

Debar city, Mine Radika Knauf, Macedonia
Debar is a city in the western part of the Republic of Macedonia, near the border with Albania.
Large cabinet, length 7 cm x hight 23 cm x width 3,5 cm

I would like to present the Selenite crystal from the year 2003, which has now a new look as it is stored under cover from acrylic glass which was my exquisite idea. Hope you like it.

GARNET GROUP

The Garnet group represents one of the favorites in my collection of minerals. This big group is divided to two main groups which are:

Pyralspite garnets – aluminium in Y site
- Almandine: Fe3Al2(SiO4)3
- Pyrope: Mg3Al2(SiO4)3
- Spessartine: Mn3Al2(SiO4)3

Ugrandite group – calcium in X site
- Andradite: Ca3Fe2(SiO4)3
- variety Topazolite
-- variety Demantoid
-- variety Melanite
- Grossular: Ca3Al2(SiO4)3
- variety Hessonite
- variety Tsavorite
- Uvarovite: Ca3Cr2(SiO4)3

Individual specimens may be very expensive, however the entire group is magnificent according to visual appearance. The most prominent in my opinion are demantoide, spessartine, grossular and hessonite while the beautiful crystals of tsavorite are the most expensive (in Africa found tsavorite, weighing 325.14 carats was evaluated well over two million dollars).

The pictures are presented in sequential order according to the text above.

Epidote with Adularia

Alchuri, Baltistan, Gilgit-Baltistan, Pakistan

Size: 6.8 x 5.0 x 4.0 cm.

Visually very beautiful mineral. Colorless translucent crystals of adularia to 2.0 cm (front picture) are scattered over a "matrix" of green lustrous translucent epidote crystals.
