Many of you know that Galena is my favorite mineral, so it is no wonder that lead secondaries also rank among my favorites. There are 22 cerussites in the collection from 20 different worldwide locations. While cerussite is commonly seen from Mibladen and Touissit, specimens from Taouz are much less common.
Mineral: | Cerussite |

Dimensions: | 6.5 x 4.2 x 4.0 cm |
Description: |
Colorless twinned cerussite crystals with a silky luster and excellent development on matrix. Exhibits yellow fluorescence under both long and shortwave UV. Collected April 2003. |

Very nice specimen. I also share your love of Galena.

Thank you Silvia. What's not to love about Galena, right Tobi?

Beautiful specimen! I know many people have an aversion to black minerals, but some can be absolutely stunning. I do love the Manganese oxides. We are in the process of photographing some lovely cabinet size Ramsdellite specimens from the Lake Valley District. Black, but who says black cannot also be beautiful.

I think judging by the colour is not only stupid when it's about people but also when it's about minerals :-)
