PostPosted: Jul 06, 2008 07:24    Post subject: Vietnamese golden Heliodors - are they natural?

Recently I received a lot of offers of Vietnamese golden Heliodor, as well as questions about their validity. I surfed a little bit on the net and I can't find a clear positive or negative answer concerning their validity.

Can some one help here? Does anyone know if they are just pale Vietnamese Beryl irradiated to generate golden Heliodor or, on the other hand, does someone have some proof that they are natural?

An excellent column by Thomas P. Moore has been recently published on the "What's New" section of the Mineralogical Record Web page: https://www.minrec.org/whatsnew.asp adding more details to this obscure topic.

Hopefully in the future more light will be shone on these Vietnamese? Heliodors?

well, taking in account that one of the sellers of such golden beryls never send me the stuff I paid her, I firmly believe that she is a crook.

I think that are irradiated beryls, from any place.
I am very disgusted with her.
