Thank you, Michael. I took a few more pictures of this specimen today and if they are better, I will post later.

A nice piece, indeed. However, i doubt that the specimen was collected pre-1910. The first time the Wolf mine was mentioned was in 1904, actually. The first rhodo specimens that came out here (in the 1920s or so) were rather ugly. More or less all of the "classic" good pieces were found in the 1950s and 1960s before the mine closed in 1962.

A quite unusual elbaite specimen from Stak Nala, compared to most others I've seen. Most of them have a colour scheme of green, black, grey, white and sometimes a pale pink, and they're also translucent instead of transparent. But the crystals on your specimen seem to be gemmy and to have an upper part that is blue. This makes it a remarkable specimen for me, even though it is neither large nor spectacular.

Thank you for your comment, Tobi. It appears to be Indicolite at the tip of the main crystal with a thin layer of Achroite between the Indicolite and the Verdite. It is very nice to hear from you.

Nice pyro, Don, I guess it is a pale photo and the green is more intense in person ;-) Those pyromorphites from Gute Hoffnung have become bulk during the last years, at least here in Germany you can get large specimens for a very small price. I guess it's because a lot of them were found and the pyromorphite, though it has a great deep-green colour, does not occur in large well-defined crystals. But though these specimens are the bargain among several expensive German pyromorphites, I think they are really nice. I had several visitors (non-mineral people) who looked at my collection and said that this vivid-green pyro was one of their favourite specimens, some of them even asked if the colour is real ;-)

This is my specimen (4,5 cm) from that locality, I love it for its colour and it looks good even between some noble relatives from Bad Ems or Saxony: https://www.mineral-forum.com/message-board/download.php?id=35024

Very very nice magnetite. I had never seen one with such a quality from Laila. I'd like a lot to own one as yours.

Laila is a not very known locality in Baltistan, in the Haramosh mountains area, north of Chamachhu and the famous Stak Nala. The most typical specimens are a rare kind of schorl with a very steep pyramidal tip, the pencil habit as John White named it. The exact location of Laila can be seen at https://carlesmillan.cat/maps/Pakistan.png at a blue pin not far from the geometrical center.

Congratulations!
