Also the home of strange inclusions, this is a strange inclusion in Topaz, I dont have mines for many of my Burmese pieces, they came from a seller in Thailand who does gems and gem rough (sadly) they dont seem so concerned with precise localities

Intriguing! What do you think that inclusion could be?

It is as you say. Look closer and there are many interesting inclusions.

Hi Ru, The Topaz inclusion? Ive no idea at all, I wonder it could be some kind of dislocation within the lattice.

I like all the oddities that seem to come from Burma ... Two different Mushroom Tourmaline's and a Phenakite with internal markings that look like an angel.

These are great fun, nurbo.

Another oddity, also involving inclusions, is the occurrence of corundum trapiche crystals. I'd like to understand these better. In the attached picture you can see numerous tube-like inclusions orientated perpendicular to each prism face.

Great group of specimens, Ru. I especially enjoyed the unusual forms and twins. Thanks for sharing!

Many thanks John,

It is a fantastic place for twin crystals, and not just the spinels, but also quartz, hambergite, corundum, epidote, mica, chrysoberyl, serendibite, baddelyite, feldspar and phenakite.

I hope I'll be forgiven a small digression from the minerals to show a couple of Cretaceous inclusions in amber from this country.

Burmese Japan-law twins of quartz seem to be very uncommon. I've only seen two.

This one has less lustre, but is larger, double-terminated and has an attractive champagne colour.
