New book of the minerals found in Britain, Ireland and the surrounding islands from A. G. Tindle. Enjoy it!

I ordered this ages ago, but it kept getting backordered until they finally dropped my request from Amazon.
Glad it is readily available now and I will order it today, thanks Jordi!

This really fine book has been out for a while now, but it deserves having attention called to it here because it represents an awesome effort on the part of the author A. (Andy) G. Tindle, some 616 large pages of relatively small type and excellent photos! Many of us have been waiting a very long time for a comprehensive book covering the minerals of Britain (in particular), with the added bonus of the minerals from Ireland. I heartily recommend this important book.

The book sounds great. I am presuming (guessing?) that one or more dealers will have copies of this available for sale in Tucson? The publisher's website doesn't seem to contain any instructions as per placing orders from the U.S. (or from anywhere else, for that matter).

Does anyone have any comments about the other recently published book, Minerals of Northern England, by Symes & Young?

Sincerely, Pete

For folks in the USA, the best price I could find for the Minerals of Britain and Ireland is on the Mineralogical Record bookstore at $190 US.

I bought the Minerals of Northern England book in September, and it is a very well done book. It was available through Amazon at that time.

Minerals of Britain and Ireland absolutely essential if you collect British minerals. It's been a long wait since Greg & Lettsom published British Mineralogy in 1858!

Got mine from Amazon when it was first published, can't recall how much it was now, but it was quite a bit less than $190, more like the equivalent of $150-160 even allowing that the pound was a lot higher at the time .

Minerals of Northern England pretty good too. Both highly recommended.
