From a recent find in Chivor.
Specimens from this find are easily recognizable for their elongated crystals and complex "step-like" terminations.

Clean quartz and emerald are often associated in Peñas Blancas.
Other characteristics of this locality include the presence of iron-stained milky calcite and coarse-grained black shale.

Late Christmas tree from La Pita.

La Pita is the only Colombian locality where beryl crystals with pointed terminations can be observed.
100% not glued.

As I was carefully examining this specimen with the loupe, the seller - an obscure Catalan dealer - finally admitted, much to his embarrassment, that the fibrous material in the last image was the result of some poor repair work.

After a closer examination, he finally agreed to tell me the truth - these were just fibrous crystals of cummingtonite.

These well-defined flat crystals with sharp outline and faces have a deep red color that caught my eyes instantly.
