PostPosted: Jan 27, 2016 12:11    Post subject: My collection of macro's

Have a decent collection of pictures I have taken over past year. I got into rocks/minerals about 2 years ago and just recently started photographing minerals, but I love how amazing some of these thing can look its awesome!
All were taken with a Canon Powershot A3300 so not a expensive setup, but here soon I'm hoping to get a better camera for some better pictures. These were all taken with an LED flashlight as the main light source. I don't have a light setup for them yet.
Let me know what you guys think about them :D
I will add more when I can. Enjoy guys!

You may want to consider a Raynox Macro Explorer CM-2000. This pack is very affordable and includes a 1.5 and a 2.5 lens as well as a Universal Mounting adapter. You will have to purchase a tube extension. Best regards

Awesome, thanks for the info. I was looking for something like that for my camera, but no dice. Hopefully soon I can get a DSLR.

Because micro specimens are photographed using macro photography?

Well, I thought micros were magnified like with a microscope. These are just taken with a camera in macro mode.

I would have thought that your caption would describe the minerals in the images, not the method used to take the photos. No big deal, just curious.

The images all have their own description. The only reason I told what I used when I made this was because I didnt have the proper lights or setup, so they were mediocre compared to some of the awesome pics on here. I'll add more info on these soon in the description of them :)
