Thank you - but I doubt anyone will be asking me for tips.

It seems incredible. Very sad. But the only person that can allow you to collect minerals must be the owner of the quarry. It's not the Mayor's business. I believe...

Nice specimens, James. I especially enjoyed the modified fluorites. Sorry to hear of your quarry collecting experience, loss, and buy-back. (glad to hear you could buy the specimen back). From past quarry and other collecting experiences, I've found that the best people to contact are the owner and the superintendent (caretaker), and hope that these two are in agreement!

I agree with the opinion of Carles.

Spanish minerals shown, have a very good quality and aesthetics from my point of view.

Congratulations on the collection, and I hope that the experience in the Spanish quarry, not repeated.

A greeting. E.Llorens.

Still playing with how to get better photos. I have now connected the camera to a laptop so that I can control it from the laptop and check the photos in real time. That makes it so much easier!

Still some issues on lighting and backgrounds that I need to resolve. Plus I think I need to dust them first!

Hi James, that cerussite from Garlitos must be very old...Perhaps from "El Borracho" Mine?
Otherwise an excellent and very difficult to obtain piece. Congratulations!

The cerussite is old and is from an old collection. Not a superb one by the standards of, say Tsumeb, but exceptional for Garlitos (which is all the old label says)

I supposed so James...from an old collection. Garlitos mines were closed many decades ago and are famous as containing the best cerussites found in Spain.

I would love to see some other ones so that I can compare them - I have always been a little unsure about the location given for this one. I have never seen another one!

Here you have one, mined in the middle of XIX century. Also from an old collection that I acquired last year...

I am including two specimens from the new finds at the Greenlaws mine. We await to see what else comes out from the levels, but it looks promising to me.

Thought I would add some Spanish material so did some photos yesterday. Have now got the camera connected to the computer, so that I can run the camera from the computer. Next step is to build a better support for the camera!

Yeah, me too James. The subtle zoning is just great, and I can see how it would be difficult to capture.

Keep up the good work.
