I think you will get no useful answers until you:

• state the location from which these materials were collected more exactly than "USA"

• provide larger images with more detail

• read and follow the guidelines at A general guide for using the Forum with some rules and tips especially point 7:

7.-) If you need help in identifying a mineral then please follow the recommendations given in the ‘Style Guide’ of the section ‘What is this?’ that you can read by following this link

He / she does not say just USA but America, thus somewhere in between the Aleutians and Punta del Fuego.

Thanks for the somewhat more detailed description of the locality, but an even more detailed description (e.g. the name of the small town on the GA/FL border) might help, because that is a clue to the geological setting that may have produced your samples.

Thanks also for the more detailed images. The first is undoubtedly quartz (look it up on Mindat.org if you need to). The third is probably quartz as well, but the green color is unusual and puzzling. Hardness tests as described in the previous links would be most helpful here.

The middle image is one of a bunch of pieces of rock, without any detail that might show minerals. This forum is a mineral group. Rocks and minerals are not the same thing, though rocks are made up of grains of minerals. We generally are interested in the minerals, not the rocks, so if a given specimen does not show discrete and recognizable mineral grains, or the discrete regions have no distinguishing characteristics, we are not able to comment with any authority about it/them, and are not particularly interested in trying to do so. For more on this topic, please consult FMF is a Forum about minerals

Oh, I understand! Thanks for replying I'm completely new to all of this and wanted a second opinion so your reply is very much appreciated I'm 20 minutes north of columbus ga, and the dark burgundy one was what I thought to be a geode, but as I'm researching more I see that it's a nodule, with some citrine inside, the outside was completely round and this is the inside of it. Again, Thank you

A hardness test will already tell you a lot about your find. If it is quartz, then the green colour inclusion will be very interesting. Somewhere on this forum is a guide to some simple tests. It will be interesting to know what you have. Regards.

Sorry Josele, I did not read the first reply from Pete:-( If it is quartz, it is a very exciting find. I hope Aliengng keeps us posted with tests and future discoveries.

Looks like material from or near the Hogg Mine just outside Lagrange GA. Rose quartz, blue quartz, a lot of beryl found there as well. If not at the actual mine it certainly bears more exploration given what can be found in association.

Cheers,

If Mark's comment is on the money, the light green sample could very well be beryl. When found as chunks lacking crystal form, it can easily be mistaken for quartz.

I'm no expert, but from the picture, the 3rd one looks quite a bit like some of the green fluorite that I've gotten from the Wise Mine, Westmoreland, New Hampshire, USA.

The cleavage seems a bit random for fluorite. Imaged is a fluorite fragment from Westmoreland, and has a rather pronounced octahedra cleavage, although massive material might show less obvious cleavage.

Thanks for the replies! I'm going to do a hardness test to see what I come up with! Yes, it does look like florite, very pretty! Ill will be updating soon with hardness results! The first picture is a very common rock that I find a lot that's a huge piece of one, but I'm still learning! Will update soon!

A hardness test will show the difference between quartz and fluorite. A good pocket knife blade will mark fluorite but will not touch quartz or beryl.
