Lovely quartz cluster Philippe! These are just a 'bugger' to photograph.

Sorry Philippe, I overlooked your message.
If this quartz is indeed from the Western Emerald Belt, it could be either from the Muzo district or from Peñas Blancas.
These are the 2 main localities known for producing clear quartz in western Boyacá.

thank you Fiebre Verde and Pierre.
Pierre, I should admit that my photographic knowledge and skill are very poor. LOL
and with some clear minerals it is worse. This quartz is far better in person, very shiny.
Fiebre Verde,
The quartz is from Muzo: the seller has certified that it is the location, but I forgot to ask for the precise mine. He said that the miners have recovered a very large cavity. The booth at the Chamonix show was crowded with pieces from miniature to specimens up to 40 cm. A shining wall.

Definitely not from Muzo or even Peñas Blancas.
These "needle-quartzes" are either from the Supatá-area or more likely from somewhere in the Departamento de Santander.
Quartz veins there are bearing alpine-style clefts, mined just for quartz. No emeralds found yet - but one never knows in Colombia;-)

If this specimen comes really from Boyacá, then it was very likely found by a guaquero - that word stands for "illegal miners" in Colombian slang.
Guaqueros often don't know themselves the exact location where they mine.
Serious guaqueros only work at night and excavate their own "tunnels" next to the legal mines.
When you listen to some sellers, any Colombian mineral comes from Muzo. I guess that helps inflate the price too.
Minerals labeled as from Muzo require some caution. When in doubt on a "Muzo specimen", crosscheck with similar material whenever possible.
Not sure if that booth with "specimens up to 40 cm" is also referring to Muzo. These large specimens are more likely from Santander, not from Boyacá.

thank you Gerard and minsur.
In fact theese specimen were not expensive (by any standard) and particularly if you compare with french alpine quartz.
So there is a doubt in the location. I do not know what to do with that.
So I let Jordi to decide if the location must be changed to Santander.
