Additional information:

I changed the name of the topic from "Favourite Galena localities" to "Favourite Galenas". So everyone can feel free not only to discuss his/her favourite localities but also which colours and forms of that mineral he/she likes the most, e.g. simple or complex crystal forms, lustrous or not etc. ...

Interconnected groups of flattened twinned crystals (largest group up to 4 cm across); associated with minor Pyrite on the backside (overall 9.0 x 8.0 x 4.6 cm). Old specimen (pre-1910) from a not so common mine that has produced this unusual type of fine Galenas. From Rodna mine, Rodna, Rodna Mts (Rodnei Mts), Romania.

Thin bladed, penetration twinned, lustrous crystals of Galena to 3.0 cm in size, with pearly white Dolomite crystals in association (overall 10.0 x 8.5 x 7.0 cm, 2.18 pounds). From recent finds in this new orebody (winter 2013). These are flattened penetration twins, which look like spinel law twins but the angles are wrong. There are also elongated dodecahedral crytals. These are quite large twinned crystals for Galena from this mining district. From Big Bear Orebody, Fletcher Mine, Viburnum Trend District, Reynolds Co., Missouri, USA.

Typical specimen of “Knitted Galena” showing neat “dendritic” forms (those are actually branched three-dimensional single-crystal skeletal forms; see: Geochem. Mineral. Petrol. Sofia, 2006, 44, 1-18.). The dendrites are encrusted with microcrystalline Cerussite; a possible first layer of colloform fine-banded Sphalerite is not excluded but not that obvious, which contrasts with most of specimens of this type (overall 14.0 x 7.0 x 6.0 cm; 3.59 pounds). Old time specimen from Schmalgraf Mine, Moresnet, Kelmis, Plombières-Vieille Montagne District (Plombières-Altenberg), Verviers, Liège Province, Belgium.
