I will be traveling the coast of Norway - stops in several ports and travels around - in a few weeks. Are there particular Museums or Displays that I should try to visit? I have some on list but would like to hear from anyone who has visited and has rercommendations. I'll post pictures on return.

One of the worlds most unique mineral museums is the Norwegian Mining Museum in Kongsberg, which I would highly recommend.

Sadly, the splendid [!] collection of the Oslo Geological Museum is closed while under reconstruction - only a small part of the collection is open in the adjoining Natural History Museum - but if in Oslo, don't even miss that small but better set of minerals! There is a museum in Evje in Telemark and a very nice private museum in Lom run by my friend Torgeir Garmo - admission is free. Smaller mineral museums dot the country. If you are collecting on your trip, Norway is a collector's delight if you know where to look.
