PostPosted: Jul 27, 2018 05:44    Post subject: Help please about swamboite-(Nd) structure

Hi,
The exchange of photos and ideas is often a monologue.
I believe that the richness of this forum is in the interventions that make it possible to better understand a subject or to solve an issue.
This is how I recently photographed a swamboite- (Nd) specimen from Swambo, Katanga. Sample of Roger Van Dooren, a former employee of Union Minière du Haut Katanga.
I saw that it was the third compound of Nd-U discovered. What else ?
Its structure is complex and was established by a Czech team (Plasil et al.) in 2017. The structure is based upon uranyl-silicate sheets of uranophane topology alternating with an interlayer of partly occupied Nd3+ sites and H2O molecules. (monoclinic, superspace group P21/m)
I did not find any representation of this structure. Can you help me ?
Thank you.
