PLEASE NOTE: these are not my stones but are in my shop, and I’ve always been curious as to why they look like they do. Im also not a big fan of polished stuff in general.

So I’ve been wondering for a long while; why does this Ruby Kyanite Zoisite look so similar to the plain Ruby Zoisite and why does the Kyanite just add another ring to the ruby in the Zoisite, why doesn’t it make streaks or some other erratic formation like most do? Was the Kyanite added at the correct time in formation to align with the ions (or something like that). Did the Kyanite have to be added at the right time or could it have been added in later development while growing with or into the Zoisite? Which came first out of all three?
