Thank you, Carles. Now that i finally got some skills in photographing minerals, here's another good shot of an old specimen:

And one more successful attempt to honour old specimens with a photo they deserve:

New specimen that i gathered on my hunt for German mineral classics - a small yellow Erzgebirge fluorite. The red material next to the fluorite is a hematite coating on some tiny quartz crystals.

Very nice specimen, Tobias. I presume this is from an old find?

I don't know when this specimen was found, but i suppose it is not a recent find. These fluorites come from a quarry near Annaberg, Erzgebirge. Here you can see some pictures from the quarry, taken between 2006 and 2009:

https://www.mineralienatlas.de/lexikon/index.php/MediaDataShow?galerie=lokation&backlink=1&lokationid=3129

It is still possible to enter the quarry and to search for minerals, but with only a very small chance to find something. They say that this quarry was scanned by so many collectors that it is nearly impossible to find some of these yellow fluorites without using heavy equipment ...

Hemimorphite from China. Came with a wrong locality info (Quinglong Mine, Guizhou Province, China), but knowing a lot of Chinese minerals, i knew before that this specimen comes from THE classic Chinese hemimorphite locality of Wenshan:

Good Old Germany always surprises me with its wonderful minerals. Once again, a specimen from a classic Saxon locality. This new specimen is an interesting combination of three (or actually even four) different minerals: It is a quartz crystal, red coloured by hematite (?), surrounded by pale siderite and with some small purple fluorite crystals as special feature. From Ehrenfriedersdorf in Saxony, a city with a long mining history that goes back to the 13th (!!!) century when the digging for tin began ...

Hello Tobi,

Great piece indeed. Am I wrong or you might add the specimen has a phantom and micro pyrite (?) on the siderite the way some Panasqueira specimens have ?

Hi Chris! I did not add the black material on the siderite because i really don't know what it is.

Another quartz crystal, this one is from China and combined with orange garnet crystals:
