Not an easy piece to photograph - you've done a good job with your camera!

Thank you, Carles and Gérard, you are right: Taking a photo of this fluorite was nearly impossible. This specimen is not new, I have it for 1,5 years now! There were several photo sessions that ended without a shot of this specimen, today it took me another 51 attempts and some time of post-editing ... good to know that the final result is presentable.

More than presentable. The upper central area is perfect. I wouldn't be able to make it better.

Thanks again, Carles, your appreciation means a lot to me, even more because I know your own photographing skills and your quality standard according to that skills!

I'm really honoured by your words, Carles, thanks a lot! I immediately fell in love with this specimen when it was offered to me by a friend and for a ridiculous price, it was nearly a gift :-) It may be small, but I've never had such a good vanadinite in my collection, it has a a deep-red colour and a great luster, plus the contrast to the matrix. Unfortunately my camera was pushed to its limits with that small piece, so the photo is still fuzzy and does not do the specimen justice. All the more I'm glad to get such a great response to that photo :-)

Here's another photo of the new small vanadinite, I also tried with a dark background. The photo is still fuzzy because my camera got to its limits with this small specimen, nevertheless a quite good photo of that small beauty:
