I know these Spanish dolomites and yes, they look a litle bit similar ... but I also think my specimen looks first of all like a Tsumeb calcite ;-)

Hi Tobi, that piece sure is Calcite, it sounds more like Dolomite
I'm sorry, I don't know what you mean. This is a typical and distinctive Tsumeb calcite, what do you mean with "sounds like dolomite"?

Tobi, I just wanted to comment that the piece looked like Dolomite

Ok Jose, now I understand ;-) And yes, there's some similarity, many carbonate minerals appear in such a shape (calcite, dolomite, ankerite, rhodochrosite, siderite).

By the way, what the photo doesn't show: The calcite is not colourless but pale light-pink, I think this is caused by hematite.

Tobi - very nice Greenlaws fluorite and a wonderful addition to your collection. Check out the fluorescence if you have a UV light. The Greenlaws fluorite in my collection shows a beautiful purple fluoresce.

Thank you guys!
Michael, I don't have a UV lamp, but I know that Greenlaws fluorite shows a beautiful blue/purple fluorescence.

Here's another new fluorite, from China, it's from Zhejiang Province and the provided locality was "Suichang Co., Lishui Pref." but I never heard of that, can anyone confirm this or tell me the exact locality?

Tobi, very beautiful additions to your Fluorite sub-collection.
The shape and color of the Lishui Prefecture's one are unusual.
And, since I like big pieces, I see with pleasure that you are more and more increasing the size of your specimens.

Warm greetings.
Sante

Thank you Sante! All of them are really nice fluorites, yes, and I appreciate them very much as additions to my collection. I also like big(ger) pieces but money and space are limited so I already struggle with where to place them without the showcase looking too crowded. I only have one showcase and because many of the latest additions were larger I'm at the space-limit ... But that will force me to discard some minor specimens and that will increase the quality of the whole collection :-)

Best regards & stay safe!
Tobi

Some beautiful fluorites. The English one was collected by German people, no ? Ì think I met them in SMAM 2019.

Take care Tobi.

Hi Dany, as far as I know the new mining workings at Greenlaws that started some years ago are done by Peter Ward, and I'm sure he's from England ...

Thank you for your information. You're right. Maybe it was the 39 degrees in SMAM that cooked my brain.

Have a nice evening.

Hi, Tobi.

It's with great pleasure that I congratulate on this new star.
Just your enthusiasm, beyond the beauty of your minerals, would have been enough to deserve it...

A very warm greeting.
