I kinda thought this might be a piece of coal but I’m not sure. It’s about 2 1/2 inches tall. It’s black on the bottom. Then turns into a blueish green. It’s seems to have some algae coated on the outside. I tried brushing it off but it won’t come off. When it’s wet it’s really pretty. The picture included is of when it’s wet.

Bubbles and color distribution in flow lines show up that it is a not-natural glass.

Not so far from me in Sheffield, UK there is any amount of this stuff lying around in the woods where old metal smelters were - 17/1800's - and in varying shades of green and occasionally blue. It is known locally as industrial slag - incidentally it takes a nice polish if you can keep away from the numerous air bubbles!
