PostPosted: Oct 28, 2018 07:40    Post subject: Celestine or Barite?

Half a year ago I purchased this geode containing beautiful Crystals of Baryte or Celestine.
Covered by some tiny Quartz Crystals.

The geode is approximately 15 cm wide and 10 cm high. The Crystals are up to 2 cm.

There was no label with this specimen. But I recognized it as Baryte from Tunisia because I've seen similar specimen.

But if I look on mindat, Redeyef (Redayef; Redeief), Tunisia, these specimen are apparently all Celestine.

If I however Google Baryte Tunisia, similar specimen appear.
So what is it, Celestine or Baryte?

Does anybody know……..?

Thanks,
Mathias
