PostPosted: Nov 30, 2018 14:38    Post subject: Quartz veins with yellowsomething

Something I found and just photographed at summer, thought these were quartz veins with dirty yellow mica or feldspar ..but, now someone said I should go check the yellow. The pictures are horrible, but please tell me if you can recognize it, or the possibilities to check if I go back. It seems the snow is again melting here so I might be able go back to test it. I don't know if pyrite can be of this colour? From Finland.

Thank you so much again, Kara

The close-up suggests oxidized pyrite to me. There appear to be tiny metallic grains in the yellowish stains.
