PostPosted: Feb 02, 2019 10:18    Post subject: Amber ?

Hallo forum again today :-)

Once again. When I was in the sorting of the collection, I found something I needed to help again ... Either from France from the Champagne Ardenne area or from Germany from the Baltic Sea ... This reminds me of the amber ... those "imperfections" inside the stone ... this piece is comparatively lighter than other stones. But I'd like to learn lesson if I'm wrong...

While I won't completely rule out amber, I doubt it. The chonchoidal fracture is much like your other pictured flint or chert examples. So I favor this example being a semi-translucent piece of microcrystalline quartz, Chalcedony, yellowish colored Chert or Flint. The yellowish color is from iron staining. BOB
