Hello, Is there such a thing as beeswax jade ?
I know it's not calcite cause material seems so much softer and feels like can be easily scratched.

In my opinion, another rather offensive creation seen at low end rock shows and flea markets. Not worthy of much discussion on mineralogical websites. BOB

Oh, some of us just have more or less patience for posts about "odd polished objects", as opposed to mineral specimens--which is what this Forum is really intended to be about. I guess I've just been feeling to be in a "very patient and mellow mood" today!

With the banding, it really does look like calcite. Calcite would scratch very easily, with a knife. Something like beeswax--well, you could scratch it easily, with just a fingernail, I believe. Calcite like this is sometimes called "honey calcite".

If calcite, it should bubble, if a drop of acid is put on it. If you only have vinegar available, place a drop on it and (with patience!) observe closely with a magnifying lens--you should see tiny bubbles continually forming. With stronger acid, it will "fizz" rapdily.

Glad u r in mellow mood today to help me out on identifying these materials..truly appreciate you due to educating others like you previously said the forum is to help others and to educate.

I m gonna stick with honey calcite cause it can be easily scratched by fingernail. Definitely not putting acid on it lol

If it is easily scratched by a fingernail, it is not calcite. Most likely gypsum.

We're sorry but we can not help you anymore. As explained in FMF is a Forum about minerals FMF is not a Forum about cut or polished stones, random rocks, or lapidary items.
Sorry to be so strict but we have received too many queries from people asking about material that just doesn’t interest us.
