PostPosted: Apr 09, 2019 12:35    Post subject: Wulfenite USA

Dear Mineral Friends,

I have another specimen from the same collector; labeled "Wulfenite USA".
I have no doubt about whether it is Wulfenite.
But the USA is big.

Is there anybody who can give me a clue about where this specimen might be mined?

Size: 6 * 5 * 1 cm.
Crystals are up to 8 mm.

Thanks,
Mathias

Your example is quite probably from Arizona. There are a number of mines in that state that have similar examples. One likely locality might be the Rowley Mine.

Go onto Mindat photo search and put in "wulfenite from Arizona". A whole lot of photos with localities will come up to look thru. BOB

Agree with John and Bob; Rowley Mine, Maricopa County, AZ. No question in my mind. Thanks for the good photographs...they make helping much easier.
