the blue seems to be a gas , hydrochloric causes it to dissolve , scan done on xrf .sorry for bad pic

The numbers look as if they are percentages - with over 97% Si how is it that it responds so well to dilute HCl?
It looks to me as if it is a fossiliferous limestone dominated by gastropods.
