PostPosted: Aug 17, 2019 09:39    Post subject: Need help to confirm the composition of some specimens

Hello everybody,

As I'm a beginner, I wasn't enough aware to ask all the needed information when I bought specimens.
So I need some confirmations :

Photo 1 and 2 : Dolomite and Pyrite.
Photo 2 : Calcite and Pyrite
Photo 3 and 4 : Quartz, Calcite and Pyrite.

Thank in advance for your helps.

- First specimen could be dolomite, maybe even rhodochrosite. The sulfide at the bottom maybe pyrite, not sure. It looks even like two several sulfides, maybe pyrite and galena.

- Second specimen, no idea about that reddish coating, sorry.

- Third specimen, you are right with your guesses quartz and pyrite, the other mineral could be calcite as you said, or maybe dolomite or rhodochrosite.
