An interesting article related to this year's exhibition in Munich "Whoever collects, makes history" and that will be available in the "Official Show Magazine" which will have a free distribution during the Show.

Though it is not confirmed that the "Collectors are happy people" quote is really from Goethe, I'm looking forward to seeing a lot of great photos and stories from München here! Gail, I hope you have your camera with you ;-)

Munich 23/10/2019
Although it seemed that Munich Show was going to resist the tendency of so many other Fairs to start more and more soon, it has not been this way and this year on Tuesday there were already many people inside the Show and some stands almost built.

Eloïse Gaillou and Farida Maouche loved the article "Musée de Minéralogie MINES ParisTech (École des Mines de Paris) - (26)" and they wanted to celebrate it with this selfie in which Carles Manresa (the "force") is missing which no doubt he was busy making millions of photos to delight us with his report of the Show.
As they say: "a toast for Carles!"

How wonderful. I miss everyone. I could not fly due to a nitrous oxide bubble in my eye after detached retina surgery. The day before flying they told me “No flying “. I insisted Jim go. He didn’t want to but I gave him my good Nikon camera and told him to take photos! When he comes home I shall post. He is traveling with the Oboddas and is in Freiberg today. museum time!
Jim promised we’d go next year! _________________ Minerals you say? Why yes, I'll take a dozen or so...

Doing a magazine of minerals is not easy at all, and even more if it is a magazine like the Mineralogical Record. They have to send a reporter and a photographer to the main Shows like Mineralientage and their work is not so simple. Here we can see Tom Moore preparing his texts and Christi fighting with her camera 🙄

I gave my camera to Jim and he took over a thousand photos! I’ll download them today. ( Jim made it home yesterday morning ) he also visited the salt mine ( 502 years in production ) and Erica Pohl’s museum and Freiberg. _________________ Minerals you say? Why yes, I'll take a dozen or so...

Hello,
Although occupied by the preparation of the Liege Interminal Show - 50th anniversary (16-17 November 2019), I will present in the coming weeks photos of aesthetic or remarkable minerals.
This will not be an exhaustive presentation, as the Munich Show 2019 was exceptional in abundance and quality and often similar to small local shows.
The Thematic Exhibition had an unusual theme = the roundness in the specimens ... I found the most beautiful Elbaites of the Elba Island (Pezzotta’s Coll.) that I had seen since 1977.
I will follow a random order depending on my encounters.
Roger.

My 10 favorites of this year's displays.
Actually 10 + 1 because I have not published the picture of a large group of very transparent and very red crystals of Chinese octahedral Fluorite from Gail & Jim Spann. Maybe later someone will publish it...
