Just for kicks I started carving these from what im told is rose quartz.
I got them from my mother's decorative yard landscaping. They start off real rough and you cants really tell the colors and patterns, but when done it's exciting to see the hidden details.
I made these for fun. Sold a few hearts, skulls and did the rose. I'm working on a skull from a geode next.

Hi,

you have some carving skills, no question, but I think this forum is not the place for carved rocks, most of us prefer natural minerals.

And I'm sure this is not rose quartz, rather some kind of rock.

Agree with Tobi, is not rose quartz, looks like quartzite or maybe massive quartz stained by oxides.
Also in accord that most FMF members we prefer natural crystals.
But I think this kind of handcrafts or artworks yes they have a place in FMF, if not, why there is a "Mineral Art and Artists" section?

Thanks.
I have no idea, nor much knowledge on crystals etc. I'm still learning. Im going by what I was told and just wanted to contribute. I felt I was going by the description.
Sorry to offend.

Hi, You need to try the hardness of this material. If a knife blade scratches it, it isn't quartz. I can't really tell much from the photos, but I have a feeling it's a lot softer than quartz.

I agree that the carvings don’t belong on this forum
