Laura and I enjoy visiting and photographing the beauty of our U.S. National Parks. At last count, we have been to 48 parks or monuments in the National Park System from Maine to California, and Florida to Alaska. After a 35 year career as a wildlife research biologist, it's no wonder that wildlife photography is also something I enjoy.

We encountered the group of 3 bighorn sheep in Colorado's Rocky Mt. National Park a couple of years ago at a little over 11,500 feet. The moose, elk, and black bear photos were also captured in the same park on the same trip.

Twentieth day, Thursday April 2, 2020 in Barcelona

Although we are living through very difficult times and yesterday was here a gray and rainy day, the Sun always rises and despite the confinement the light pass through.
Today has been a glorious day, Barcelona no longer smells to pollution but to a small village, the birds are making large areas of the city their own to the point that you can see Upupa epops, which is a very nice name for the hoopoe. If are even coming out fungi! 😉

Sooner or later this will pass.

Greetings from Tucson - we had planned to head back to western PA a few weeks ago but the Covid-19 changed everything. So were here in "mineral city" looking for things to do and spending lots of time on the internet. We are currently experiencing near perfect weather with warm days and cool nights but that is about to change - hopefully after we are allowed to head back east but not too likely.

I thought I would throw in my contribution to this thread. This is the time of year when the desert wildflowers show themselves (as if the magic key that unlocks their blooms comes into being). I attached a few photos to show some of this year's blooms. the main wildflower bloom appears to be over but the cactus are just starting.

Today a large owl has been placed on a tall cypress 10 meters from where I was, when I took out my mobile to do a photo of it, it did not like my movement (or me) and it was gone. On the radio they say that there are birds that are nesting on the empty beaches. Italy extends the period of confinement until May 2
The birds and Italy guide us to what is going to happen: this is going to be long.
