In Memoriam Peter Seroka
Friends of the forum, I have to give you bad news, friend Peter Seroka has left us, his wife Mari just called me, he left us last night, for a few years we had a very good and close relationship ...
Great collector and many years ago collector and fan of minerals, he traveled to half the world, due to work, Germany, Japan, India, Morocco, Madrid (Spain) ...
He currently resided in Escala, L'Empordà, Girona.
Wherever you are, keep enjoying the minerals.
We are very sorry.
Rest in peace friend Peter

I heard about him already when I was a kid since he and his father were around the pre-collectors of Madrid at the 70s. In 2006 a mutual friend who knew him well told me that he was very active and that he was traveling a lot to Morocco. We contacted and Peter helped with his experience and knowledge on the Spanish side of FMF to build the section Moroccan minerals
He never stopped helping, neither FMF, Mindat nor Mineralienatlas. We talked at fairs, by phone and once at his house in L'Escala with his much-loved minerals (his motto in Mindat is: "In love with minerals")
He was very German, in a good sense of the concept, and maybe that's why he loved the Feldspars, but he was also very Epicurean and maybe that's why he liked Morocco and its minerals so much as well as he liked l'Empordà in Catalonia.
We had an appointment in the past edition of the Barcelona Show, Expominer but he wrote to me, friendly as always, telling me that he was sick and that he had to go to the clinic. As on April 1st of this year he still published a well-documented post on the Aragonite "drill bit" twin topic I thought it could be OK but today it is gone.
Glück auf Peter
