PostPosted: May 25, 2020 03:58    Post subject: Museum of Natural History Wiesbaden - asking for help/info wrt special exhibition

Hi all,
this weekend i got an email from Fritz Geller-Grimm, head of the Natural History Collections at the Museum Wiesbaden - Hessisches Landesmuseum für Kunst und Natur asking me for assistance setting up a special exhibition on minerals which is planned for 2021. One of the aspects they want to cover is the Naica Mine in Mexico. Mr. Geller-Grimm is in search of photographs (actual and historic) of the mine and the surroundings as well as for some specimens that can be shown during the exhibition. Whilst i can help him with the latter i have absolutely no pictures or videos from Naica. I told him that i will ask the crowd here knowing that we have some Mexico specialists here who may be able and willing to help.

If any of you has material as described and would like to help i would arrange contact via email or phone with Mr. Geller-Grimm.

Thank you all in advance,
Cheers
Roger

In case Dr. Geller-Grimm likes some of them he can connect with the authors via PM

Good luck!

Hi Jordi,
thanks for the link. Specimen photos are not the problem, but site pics, underground pics etc., also videos would be welcome. For mineral pics i usually stir up Jeff S. ;-) - he helped out in the past with fabulous pics for "my" special exhibitions.
Cheers
Roger

Roger...currently writing an article on Naica for Min Rec so i have access to images, maps etc...historic and recent.

I also collaborate with the folks who have made the videos of the Cave of the Crystals you have seen. They are eager to get their videos into museums. They brought a great example to Tucson this year...projected at about half true size...it was a hit!

Please put me in direct touch via pm

Cheers

Peter
