PostPosted: Jul 28, 2020 15:35    Post subject: An ancient Tuscan fair.

Hello.

The Massa Marittima mineral fair, although small (no more than 50 exhibitors), is one of the oldest in Italy.
The 52nd edition was held on last Saturday and Sunday, with all the precautions and limitations due to the Covid-19.
After six months of mineralogical abstinence, I was finally able to spend a day of full immersion.
Here are some of the minerals that I purchased.

Best regards.
Sante

Nice finds Sante! I particularly like the stibnite/senarmontite and the combo piece from Elba. I hope the show was a success for the dealers, despite the crowd restrictions.

Thank you, Chris, for your appreciated comment.

Also for me they are the two preferred specimens: the elbaite for being one the major Italian classics and the stibnite/senarmontite for having paid only 5 euros, beyond its beauty and mineralogical importance (this happens when a seller is not an expert!).

The 52nd Massa Marittima mineral fair was one a very few authorized this year in Italy.
All the major shows (Bologna, Verona, Torino, Genova and even Roma held back in December) have been suppressed due to the crowd restrictions.
So, surely the show was a success, in terms of hobby pleasure, for the visitors. But also for the exhibitors, given that all of them were private sellers (not professional dealers) and the majority came from the Tuscany itself.

Here are other specimens purchased for my Alpine and Tuscan sub-collections.

Warm greetings from Tuscany.
Sante
