I agree with Volkmar, really really beautiful! I have always been a fluorite fan and I think I own some rather good ones from around the world, but I never had a pink one from the Alps. Really lovely, Sante, congratulations on having such a treasure!

Philippe, Volkmar, Tobi, how are you?

Thank you very much for your kind comment.
I had to wait decades to find an Alpine pink fluorite that had the right balance between quality and price.
Tobi, I'm sure you'll soon find one that matches your gorgeous fluorites collection.

Here another Alpine classic, this time from Austria.

Warm greetings and stay heathy.
Sante

Hello Sante,

thank you for asking, I'm fine!

This time I can only say "wow" for your flos ferri from Erzberg! It is really breathtaking. Undamaged, as far as I can see, the white color, and the size! I have resp. my son has a similar piece from there (it was my gift for his 30th birthday), also with comparable size. So I know, how difficult (and expensive) it is to find such a beauty!

Best wishes,
Volkmar

Thank you, Sante, my family and me are doing fine, but the Covid situation gets worse and worse, I'm afraid of what may come :-(
Concerning the alpine pink fluorite: As you say, the balance between quality and price is the problem, you won't find that kind of fluorite as a bargain, good specimens are extremely expensive. You can be proud to own that beauty!

Well, I personally never liked flos ferri, but from an objective point of view this is a truly exceptional specimen, worthy of a museum!

Best regards

Hello Sante
we are very well :) thank you
I hope that you and your family are fine too.

health is a precious thing during this difficult time.

I totaly agree that you get the right balance with your fluorite (even I do not know the price);
I remember searching for a pink fluorite at one of the Chamonix show, and affordable pink fluorite were quite ugly (a mix of grey and pink, frosty, dull crystals.)
You got it !

Thank you,Volkmar, for your friendly words.
I'm really happy to know that there is a similar aragonite in your family. I hope you'll post it soon.

Tobi, I always appreciate your kind comments. Thank you.
I know the sad situation in Germany (very similar to Italy). I'm in close contact with several German friends who own a "vacation home" in Gavorrano and will not be able to come for the next holidays.
At least, we can hope for vaccination. I think of the unfortunate third world countries...

Philippe, I found the fluorite when I wasn't looking for it. Probably the same will happen to you. :-)

I wish you all and your families to continue to stay healthy and to spend peaceful holidays.
Very warm greetings.
Sante

A truly outstanding piece, Sante! As a fan of quartzes, especially from alpine localities, I know how special and superb this giant specimen is. I own a really good smoky quartz too, but that 40 cm killer specimen makes me speechless, it has even gwindels on it! Truly magnificent, a marvelous sample that shows why alpine quartzes are so highly desired by many collectors.

Thanks for sharing this exceptional specimen, you have such a great collection!

Best regards & and stay well
Tobi

Hello, Tobi. I hope that you and your dears are fine.
I appreciate your always friendly comments.
I'm happy you like that quartz. I was fortunate to purchase it from a very old Italian collection.
Enjoy to the fullest the upcoming Christmas holidays.
Sante

I begin the journey through my minerals from all over the world, following the sequence of their arrangement in my display cases dictated only by the continuous search for space...

Warm greetings from Tuscany.
Sante
