I was gifted these very large bookends. There's a sticker saying pink jade. It does look similar to jadeite.

Do you think the label is accurate?

Hi, Foreman (any name? Sorry, but I feel dumb addressing to a nickname....)

Without more data, and reading Mindat, it could the purplish-blue/violet variety of Jadeite...
https://www.mindat.org/min-2062.html
May you try to get hardness?

With best wishes

Lluís

"Pink jade" has been used just as a marketing term for rhodonite.

Check the density - Rhodonite is denser than jade.

I'm a rookie, test the hardness how? I usually would do that my breaking off a piece. It seems very dense when held.

Rhodonite, unlikely in my experience. In what I've seen rhodonite is always bright pink and sometimes black. These pieces have very little black, mostly grey with mottled pink, nothing bright or deep colored.
