This quartz specimen has me wondering:
What is its origin ?
Bought in the USA in the late 1970s-early 1980s.
The internal texture highlights the edges of the crystal.
How to explain it?

What is the dark material between the quartz crystals?

Thank you very much Alfredo,
Here is what I see for the late black deposit, without moving the specimen.
I see nodules of iron or Mn (oxides).
What do you think about dot?

A very long time ago I collected quartz very much like this from an outcrop across from the Pride of the West Mine in the Silverton Colorado area. The black stuff was not easy to get off.

Many thanks Peter
I'm going to request an analysis of this dark matter.
