PostPosted: Jun 27, 2021 02:02    Post subject: What is this?

Hi I've just started making pendants to sell and bought a wholesale lot of these as azurite off a seller on Etsy, he is based in India. He gives no indication as to where he sources them from.

I've already soldered a couple and I love them so I don't really care what they are, but I don't want to sell them as something they aren't.

When I went to look for azurite mineral properties I found azurite is deep blue? I've found so many stones for sale that look like mine being sold as 'azurite with malachite', 'azurite with chrysocolla', and even 'shattuckite', it's impossible for me to know what mine should be called. Maybe they are azurite?

You can see in the photos the colours are many and varied, shiny smooth on the polished side dull at the back.

Please help me so I can sell these with the correct name.

Thanks for any help,
Deborah

Hello,

I'm not a specialist but it would not be correct to sell them as Azurite because the Azurite is not the main part of the majority of your pieces. It seems they are all combined with other secondary minerals of copper. But wait the answer of specialists.

Have a nice day.
