Some pics of tourmaline I collected on a small prospect in South Dakota's Black Hills. Pics taken with small point and shoot camera and USB microscope. The tourmaline are not from a pegmatite, but from quartz tourmaline veins in greywacke and schist. Looking for gold but finding many other interesting minerals.

Could you please provide the minerals, localities and size with each image? Without that information, these images are almost meaningless.
S.D. - No idea where that is? South Dakota, I guess? Sorry but we really need better information to help us help you

I wasn't really asking for help, was just sharing some pictures I took. What mineral? Black tourmaline like I put in the heading. Size? these pics were taken under magnification, some with a microscope. I can't put a size to something that I can barely see with my naked eye. That's why I put them in the macro category. Location? I should have put central Black Hills, Hill City and Keystone area. They did not come out of a mine, but just a small prospect surface collecting. The photos are not meaningless to me I was just sharing. This was my first post on this site. I thought I included most of the relevant material.

Thank you, Dan, we do like to keep the Forum well maintained, so aim to have as many details as possible on every image.
By the way, Welcome and sorry if I was a bit abrupt
James
