I can only read a few of the words, but the locality appears to be Haslital, which is here: https://www.mindat.org/loc-26735.html

Hi to everybody!
I think this label requires a decoding more than a translation! Our German-speaking friend should help us!
Greetings by Riccardo.

Schafstiel = sheep stem or sheep stalk = ram's horn? Would fit the shape

I couldn't decode all of this old handwriting but I asked Andreas Gerstenberg who is a specialist for old German labels and here's what he told me the label says:

Quarz in einer Form,
die von Kaspar Ott in Guttan-
nen Schafstiel genannt
wurde (Juli 1906.)
Haslital.

Translated in English:

Quartz in a form that was called sheep stem by Kaspar Ott in Guttannen (July 1906.)
Hasli Valley.

Liebe Grüße from the German-speaking friends ;-)

Thanks, Tobi and Andreas Gerstenberg. I could not read that handwriting!

With the help of the translator DeepL, I suggest that a better translation for "Schafstiel" would be "sheep shank". The shank is the bony lower part of the leg, the shin. Rarely used in English except to refer to a cut of meat.

I can imagine "sheep stem" meaning the same thing, but I don't think we'd say that.

The benefits of such a superb international group!

You should see some of the locality debates on the Spanish side as people seem to try to get our locality database to match their labels!
