Hi everyone, as all of you here I am very passionate about collecting minerals. I have been in this gig for the past 5 years and I’m certain that many of you here have many more years of experience. Which is why I think that many of you would also like to share this passion with other people. This is the reason why I started a YouTube channel. I have already published some short videos while I have started to publish actual videos (in fact one premieres today!). It’s mainly focused towards beginners in the field and it’s main purpose is to communicate data and facts as simple as possible. The material will start to gain complexity as time passes but I think they will be useful nevertheless if kept simple. I would kindly appreciate your support by subscribing and sharing to people you know are interested in starting a collection!

Any suggestions on the content I have published or you think would be helpful publishing is greatly appreciated.

Sincerely

- Minerals and Fossils Forum Yt channel

My recommendations for beginners would include: (1) join one or more clubs (learn from others); (2) visit museums and go to shows to see what excites your passion; (3) go to shows, including smaller shows where you can spend time talking with dealers and other collectors and get a feel for pricing; (4) take any classes that are available, especially if they include hands-on instruction on mineral ID, crystallography, gem cutting, or whatever your interest(s) are; (5) subscribe to one or two periodicals (e.g. Mineralogical Record; Rocks & Minerals; Rock & Gem, etc.) to find out what's "hot" and learn about occurrences of minerals; (6) join the FMF Forum and Mindat..
