I am interested in examples of cleavage in azurite crystals.

Does anyone have any pictures of these?

Hi,

I'm not getting exactly what you guys mean with "cleaved azurites", but might one of these be it?

cheers

Aniol

I think he means broken crystals (cristales rotos) so that he can see both the good and poor cleavage in azurite

Aniol: these are from Kerrouchen and not from Mibladen and they are crystals (most of them) so, as James said, not what Ray requested, I believe.

Thank you both for clarifying it.

They pretty much broken. I was curious cause traductor issue I guess.

The person who sold it to me is from Midelt so I didn't ask too much the location, but theoretically not far from there.

Hello,
I don't think I've ever seen an azurite cleavage.
Here is an old specimen of Tsumeb (Willy Israel) without any breakage but whose termination of a crystal is not harmonious.
Blemishes are growth defects, however with a small conchoidal fracture that looks natural.

Hi, All

I also have never seen a cleavage in azurite.
But, despite this, in Klockman 14th edition in German (mine is in Spanish...) there is a quite perfect cleavage in (100).
Mindat says
Perfect on {011}; on {100} fair; on {110} in traces.
Agreed that Mindat is more modern, but I fail to see why in Klockman there is not even a mention on the cleavage on (011).
But I should say also that I am sloppy in Miller indexes.,.... :-(

With best wishes

Lluís
