Well, Tucson is happening and Jim and I are pleased to be heading that way soon. Bad weather is coming to Texas in the form of an ice storm so we are delaying our departure. Need to be sure our outside livestock will have water since temps are going down to low teens for over 60 hours.
No way am I driving in that either!
But we’ll get there!

Been laying out displays and packing them.

This report is dedicated to my Mining Minions. A group of awesome ladies whom I taking digging all across the USA. Their joy is my favorite reward.

And to Peter Lyckberg whom I adore and is in ICU. We are thinking of you Peter!!!

My mining minions are learning about minerals in a rapid way. All of them have cases with self collected AND purchased pieces. A few are coming for their first Tucson!

Hi Gail and Jim - wow, what a big job! Thanks so much for posting the photos.

Really sorry to learn that Peter is in ICU - is this Covid related? I do hope he is soon making a good recovery.

Nice to see a few 'Brits' in the candidate exhibits - hope some of them made the final cut!

Talking of British specimens do please mention the Russell book project to anyone who might be interested, (see James Catmur's post a couple of weeks back)

Hoping to pack large case number 2 today. This one is for the main show in the convention center run by the Tucson gem and mineral society. ( TGMS )

Thanks for firing up your 2022 Tucson show report. I share your concern over Peter, who has been a good friend at the Tucson show over the years, making his annual treks to Tucson for many years. I'll look forward to seeing your exhibits and you guys during the events in Tucson. I will also be putting in my Bisbee minerals at the TGMS show as a tribute to my late collecting buddy, Dick Graeme. You're correct, Gail, it is a lot of work to exhibit our collections but so important to share our passion. We wouldn't have very interesting mineral shows if collectors, dealers and museums did not exhibit, and I encourage all collecting entities to participate.
