Hello,
Back from Munich, with a few avatars with my car (I like progress when it is reliable), I present to you some memories of a wonderful visit. Firstly, was the Sonderschau, the thematic exhibition, which in the past and still today was worth the 700 km journey, less flamboyant than all the Mineralientage in 2024?
The Sonderschau had chosen the theme of specimens of unique beauty and morphology, incredible and yet sometimes real in Nature: « The impossible crystal ».
It was a total success for the passionate amateur, but I doubt that the visitor unaware of our passion would be surprised. Expo 2023 will have been more effective in this aspect.
One fact surprised me: private collections are very rich.
Having been close to the Congo in the past, I place this cobaltiferous calcite (< 1% Co) at the top of the specimens. This set combines the extreme rarity of the specimen with great elegance. Impossible to find today.
Furthermore, you can ask me questions if I can give an answer, because the FMF remains a mutual aid forum.
