PostPosted: Apr 18, 2007 10:43    Post subject: Links within the message forum

The FMF Forum has an anti-spam system that means that you cannot add links to messages. To give you an idea, each day we get about 20 attempts to post ‘rubbish publicity’ on themes that have nothing to do with minerals. So this system keeps the forum free from this Internet plague.

If you want to include a link that you feel others would be interested in (it must not be publicity, just informative) you can do so by entering it in the following form:

www(dot)address(dot)com(slash)pagename(dot)html

That way the anti-spam filter will not filter it out. The forum moderators can then, if they think the link is interesting, edit the link so that it works like a normal one.

Also you can publish your own email address. To do it you can use (for example) the following form:

name(at)server(dot)com

Thanks for your understanding

Hi,

Now it is possible to include links to any other forum pages (the English and even the Spanish forum). This will make it easier to reference other messages without being blocked by the anti-spam system.

Currently it is possible to publish here links without conversion to the following web pages:

Mindat
WebMineral
RRUFF-IMA project
Mineralogical Record
Rocks&Minerals
minersoc
Mineralienatlas
Wikipedia
FMF
Galería FMF
MTI
Minerales de Referencia
Minerales.info
Minercat (G.M.C.)
Minerval (S.V.M.)
Cristamine
Strahlen
The Russell Society

I would add:
http://www.researchgate.net to the list - many full text articles there
http://www.commons.wikimedia.org - wiki pictures

The link to strahlenfoundation is broken, SSL config failure! Clicking on that is potential security risk with older browsers and it does not work in the new ones!

Thanks basti, I already deleted the link of strahlenfoundation from the list.

About the other two, sorry but there is not a list of useful links but a list of links that the people use more and that consequently must be pre-normalized.

Thanks again
