Would like to here about some stories of encounters with snakes while mineral prospecting and some good tip on safety while mineral hunting in the western states

A question to ponder: Why is it difficult to see why an organic substance should not be called a mineral if it's chemical nature and its crystalline structure is identical with its inorganic twin.

A minerals quality can be judged by the same criteria that diamond is analyzed. To look at two diamond that appear the same, but under other specification they are not of same quality.
