It looks like the matrix is fluorescing red. Feldspar can fluoresce red and garnet occurs in feldspar.

You're right about the feldspar...I put the smokey qtz in the wrong sample bag lol. Thanks f ...

Zircon and corundum (ruby) do occur together. Zircon frequently fluoresces yellow though.

It would be helpful if you could perform scratch test. Corundum is hard and will scratch topaz and beryl.

So I was mixed up about the UVA and UVC lol, but I got a dual SWLW light and neither the matrix or crystals irridesce.

Can you give us any information about its hardness? Locality? Is the last photo just a strong light, or is it a LWUV (it looks like it might be a Convoy)? If not, does it fluoresce?

Sounds to me like you're talking about Fracking. You're gonna need some VERY expensive equipment it this is what you're referring to.

Are you talking about mining or precious metal recovery? As mentioned above water is used as the primary solution in mining but as far as I know, its nitric acid which is used for the final separatio ...
